i haven’t played this yet but do wanna say it’s very important in game design to let some things be annoying sometimes

Fighting Medusa Heads in a Castlevania game with no contact damage is like seeing an athlete who was never the same after that life-changing injury years ago: Depressing

I came out of Silksong with really mixed feelings on contact damage BUT you can't say it doesn't make enemies feel dangerous. this makes the enemy look downright optional, like you could only get hit on accident

I'm guessing they really wanted to use them as grappling points for some new gameplay and contact collision would get too much in the way? I also havent played yet, but it's weird to repurpose the original enemy instead of creating a new one. I love how annoying to deal with they've always been.

Having got to the actual platforming zones with the heads, oh god they’re so much more annoying than the old purely contact damage ones.

They wind up using them more for platforming areas as mobile whip points instead of the thing that you bump into and die from falling in a pit Except during some of those platforming spots they also hit you and drop you into spikes anyway. You do not instantly die and didn't in SotN either.
