so much of the blowback would be less if these execs hadn't just openly embraced the shittiest fucking fascists imaginable after a decade of bad chocies. They have no credibility on anything; I can't begrudge anybody who doesn't believe a word coming out of their mouths on any subject, ever.

Yep. There is no reason to trust anything they have to say and every reason to believe that whatever they do is for some kind of nefarious reason. They're just dime store Bond villain wannabes who are inflicting immense damage to society.

Realistically, if they really had something to offer people being skeptical of them would be beneficial to the entrepreneurs peddling AI as the next big thing. Skeptics often turn into the strongest advocates when something is proven out. Instead they DEMAND that we believe.

It’s a good piece thanks for writing. I find this debate very bad even by the standards of social media. The quality of the conversation is so poor that it gives all sides plenty of ammo to talk about how dumb / bad faith their opponents are, ultimately to nobody’s benefit.

I'm so very glad that AI will never be able to manipulate the ppl in my life. Thank you, government of We The People, for not allowing Frankenstein's monster loose...for the 4400th time since that woman wrote that book. I'm sure she'd be all "TOLDYASO!", but we are dumb AF.
