Some years back oily chud Elon Musk pleaded for an AI pause for the sake of safeguarding humanity. Turned out he was only buying time to launch his own evil AI. Seems similar to me. "You guys take it slow. My digital abomination is going full steam!"

I just think it would be neat if some of these articles mentioned that corrupt fascists gutted our regulators and labor/environmental/consumer/cybersecurity standards with the enthusiastic support of the tech sector I think that might be nice context for the reader

I wonder if he is saying this because he knows very soon when he has to pay for the next lot of contracted chips no cash for it, no PE cash etc and even Nvida can't do any more circular financing ?

I think it's a combination some are marketing, some are genuinely worried about sector ethics, some are distancing themselves from responsibility by implying looming self awareness, some genuinely (incorrectly) think they're on the cusp of human level awareness

what a mess it all is but who is actually being honest Karl, of these big AI bosses etc ? none of them ? I just look and I run a small LLM on a linux 2021 Lenovo that cost me 400 and SIRI AI on device cost me nothing, use nothing of the others, where is the cash ?
