One thing that encourages me is that despite individual Democrats capitulating on trans rights, I think if the polling holds, we will elect the most pro-trans congress and senate in US history.

Our latest story. Like this is the entire Democratic Party of Ohio. There's reason for concern here. bsky.app/profile/erin...

In the latest development among anti-trans wings of the Democratic Party, the Ohio Democratic Party is now deleting criticism from caucus members of Kaptur's anti-trans ad calling transgender people an "ideology." It appears any dissent over the ad is practically banned on caucus social media.

I don't think most anti trans Dems are actually such by conviction anyway. I think they're spineless politicians who will follow which ever direction they think the wind is blowing to get elected. So change the direction of the wind.

Flanagan, AES, Jackson, Stratton, and then Nixon if she can win have been very vocal allies! Markey made it through too of course, directly crushing the transphobe Moulton. With even Kaine and Spanberger defending trans kids in Virginia, I think Labour should be averted, just need to cut the rot out

Like the antis already didn't have enough votes to force through anti-trans legislation this term and we are about to elect a whole bunch of new pro trans reps and senators. i want to pass the equality act. we should be demanding that.

At best it will be another couple years before any law protecting right is going to happen. At least it might stop making things worse.

We can't get the Equality Act without 60 in the senate or a dead fillibuster, right? I worry that nothing will happen in any direction with federal legislation but we'll see more and more battleground races that attack us from both sides, making an environment that leads to more local restrictions

Am I wary of anti-trans democrats? yes for sure, but i see no signs that the whole party is heading that way. Bright blue district Dems can't afford to abandon us after what Ed Markey did to Seth Moulton.

We have two marquee races here in Minnesota. The Dems are Amy Klobuchar for governor and Peggy Flanagan for senate. I think Peggy is solid. Amy is a little wobbly around the edges, though she has done nothing negative during this campaign.

Lesser-evil democrats fail to address the nightmare scenario for many of us: a budget amendment with bipartisan support that restricts gender affirming care as part of horse trading votes to fund the government.

Also, please remember that being an idiot for advertising does NOT signal how they will vote. Yes, they are shitty people that we should eliminate during the next primaries, but they are still the best option, and unlikely to vote against trans people facing our opposition. Dems listen to voters.
