⚡️ US general says NATO could seize Russia's Kaliningrad 'unheard of' fast. Allied capabilities now allow NATO to "take that (Kaliningrad) down from the ground" faster than ever before, U.S. Army Europe and Africa commander General Chris Donahue said.

The path now is to give Ukraine everything they need. Russia must meet a defeat in Ukraine. And they will with enough support. The defeat of russia in Ukraine will also discourage every other imperialist invader intent on taking territory with force. If you wish for world peace, with for this.

This only means that the Russians will make their nukes in Kaliningrad ready to fire even before any actual border violation happens otherwhere in the Baltics or Suwalki. 'One move in the Baltics and Kaliningrad is gone' vs 'One move against Kaliningrad and Berlin is gone'. Its not practical.

Iskanders are working. The nukes may or may not be - but noone will take the chance. What exactly can happen is speculation of course and its not wrong of this US General to remind the Russians that they are fairly exposed in Kaliningrad. But if anything happens this will be a complex risk thing.

All well and good, but the US is constantly saying it's out of Europe because it's got other things cooking. Why is a US general talking about a European operation that wouldn't have US back-up?

Stupid ideas can be used to disperse Russian resources. Putin pretends to re-enforce the Finish border, so Finland actually reenforces their border and Putin’s empty threat against NATO forces him to try and act while struggling in Ukraine. Now the Baltics are at it. Putin is refinancing NATO!

Absolutely correct take, as anyone looking at a proper map would know. In a conventional war scenario, NATO will be in Kaliningrad long before the Russians manage to stumble through the theoretical Suwałki Gap. bsky.app/profile/paxl...

I have always found talk about the Suwałki Corridor exaggerated. There are no major roads that are useful if planning an attack. And the western part of the Belarus-Lithuania border is heavily forested, with access blocked by the Čepkeliai Marsh. Remember how the Russians got stuck north of Kyiv?

We should have done it in 9 years ago as a retaliation for occupying Donbas. It would avoid so many deaths. Because Russia saw weakness in our lack of appropriate reactione and continued the rampage.

Yes, NATO could, but it won’t happen. Screw Russia, & all power to Ukraine, with all of my heart. But Russia does maintain nuclear armed Iskander short range ballistic missiles there, along with a nuclear capable version of the accompanying Iskander cruise missile that broke INF treaty.
