There is absolutely no world in which this is a "setting" What ontological universe is Apple living in? If only we had some existing design pattern like "notifications" or "banners" to show users what's new??

Apple made their stance on user agency and respect clear when they banned us from deleting the Chess app. I've owned Macs for 18 years and I have spent every one of those years trying to delete the Chess app.

That makes you think how powerful is the chess lobby.

Please go enjoy it for everyone’s sake. There needs to be someone, somewhere appreciating its perpetual existence.

i believe they have finally fixed this now! when i press play it defaults to my podcast app, which is exactly what i want. i don’t remember how i did it though

We need to know!

i’m not really sure how, but at least you’re allowed to delete the apple music app now, so maybe playing something after that can change the default. you can also try asking siri to play after having deleted the music app and it might show a dropdown with options (the info i found was old)

I'd trace back the war on user agency when they broke the promise of a cellphone power button.
