So the President of the United States of America is posting to his personal social media network blatantly fake news videos that I'm pretty sure are AI generated slop. This one is supposedly about Gavin Newsom panicking that Walmart is pulling out of California (it's not).

The video itself has multiple signs that suggest strongly that it's AI. All the imagery it shows is AI. And the "anchor" who says she's "Megan Wright" speaks in a clipped pattern that sounds like AI. Anyway, I went to look up "Megan Wright" and found a YouTube page set up just a few months ago.

The account only started posting two months ago, and it posted a few dozen videos that are all 100% AI slop videos about World War II. These are narrated by an AI generated male voice. THere is no "Robin Wright" in these videos.

I hate those so much. There are sooo many good WWII YouTubers but then why does YouTube give me suggestions for videos that will literally have single digit views! Also, a lot of Ukraine war AI slop. The shit is so insulting.

If you are tracking them, this account, also started 2 mo ago, posts WWII AI slop such as how amazed German POWs were by their generous treatment at the hands of American captors etc. It’s not MAGA propaganda yet, but it looks like they are looking for subs who enjoy hearing how great the US is

Two weeks ago "Robin Wright" showed up. And all of her video thumbnails look basically identical. And they're ALL trying to claim that Gavin Newsome is collapsing or panicking or stunned or whatever. It's all just AI slop. You can see when the account flipped.

It looks like the account is basically posting two such NEWSOM IN CRISIS videos every day, and they're all just made up nonsense. Call me crazy, but I don't think the President of the United States should be posting made up AI slop fake news videos from a fake rando YouTube account.

Oh no! Walmart pulling out of California? Whatever would be do? What if all the big box retailers leave and people have to open independent stores that pay and treat their employees better and not ship all the profits to out of state millionaires and billionaires? Oh noooooo

The cure to this, such as one is possible deals with cryptographic signatures embedded from the hardware level. Ideally you want the raw video to verify it came from a real camera, but more complex verification is possible, with less trust.

And then there's this, the President of the United States reposting an "Internet personality" (as Google calls him) who is passing along the BREAKING news from, yep, you guessed it. trumpstruth.org/statuses/36285
