It’s all silly

People who feel like they need to pay attention to specific policy positions and are very trusting would 100% believe Trump. He lies with the conviction of a convert and was telling people what they wanted to hear.

I was a captain in Iraq and I cannot tell you how little anyone told a captain about what was actually going on outside their bubble—and captains do not get big bubbles in combat zones

How many farmers are there even in Kansas?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I'm pleased to announce that the Department of Agriculture will be launching a new harvest fuel relief program providing our farmers with $8 billion in support to offset diesel costs during this harvest season. And Roger Marshall is the leader who fought for that to happen."

Hate it when new guys, like Oregon or Michigan State act like they’re big time

It’s time to curl up, hug a loved one, and start the shift over to your nightcap, which is a B1G conference game.

It was so bad Hannity had to acknowledge it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Hannity tells Zacharia that her first briefing was "widely panned" and has her confirm she didn't pass the bar exam 😬 Zacharia defends herself by saying "I feel I really stepped up to the plate to do the press conference with very little prep time"

Without commenting yes or no on El-Sayed, people shouldn’t really care that he has good one liners. Man, people loved Fetterman for making fun of Oz so effectively. Loved him.

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

El-Sayed: JD Vance called me a little weasel today. No, what you’re talking about is a fucking wolverine.

I know what the mistake is, but I’m just waiting for the other guy to say what it is so I can check his knowledge.

(standing in the doorframe, clearly having just thrown up) mom the wikipedia page for the ihr is wrong

Wait, no one thinks the diesel will actually ship, do they?

Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social

It's already illegal. Congress banned it near-unanimously in 2022. That law allows the ban to be lifted only if Russia withdraws from Ukraine. He's simply breaking the law that's already on the books.

They're going to spend a billion dollars and hit the same 70 people who still watch cable 500 million times

They went out and beat Kansas 63-3 with fewer passes than Kansas had points

I knew who you were talking about. Besides, we all know Frank couldn't look this sharp.

Collins is pumped because he views that as a classic win for the free market

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ossoff: "How can a sitting congressman vote to shut down a labor and delivery unit in his own district? Delivering mothers in Mike Collins's district now have to drive an hour to get to a labor and delivery unit while they're in labor while we already a maternal mortality crisis."

I’m not sure if San Diego is the biggest military county in the country, but it’s close.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

Trump suggested tonight that Iran could "take out" American cities: "It's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take— let it, let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

Ok, this onion my belt story actually got back around to Bayer opening a plant in Ohio. Might be a first for him.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I take an aspirin a day. I don't know if it works but psychologically I need it. It thins the hell out of your blood I guess ... They want me to go down to the 80. I take the 386. I don't know what the hell it is. It's a monster. They said, 'Sir, you don't need that!'"

Apparently it’s Gemini, but really, don’t promise a customer in writing something that can’t happen.

ChatGPT is crushing it as the new Verizon chatbot.

Republicans choosing to broadcast this now is definitely a choice. What did they think would happen?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Jack Smith: "Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation ... rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 election, he engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power"

Whoever let this on air has been sacked

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

OAN: "The GOP chair of the GA Peanut Commission backs Ossoff ... Donald Chase said Ossoff has his vote, adding he likes to support people he believes in. Chase said he's still a conservative R, but claims character matters, and he wants someone in the Senate who will take the institution seriously"

It gets harder to watch football every year. I want to love it, but the injuries are horrible and on top of it the viewing experience is so much worse than the other major sports

So I tried using AI today for a research paper. I fed it a prompt (that had my target population and some research questions) and asked for citations for peer-reviewed articles that I could then go and read for background. It gave me a list of 7-8 perfectly formatted APA citations. I was thrilled!

They want it to end with a brown person in chains changing gas prices to $1.50 while an eagle poops on the Iranian or Mexican flag

Steven T. Dennis@steventdennis.bsky.social

Most of the vulnerable Senate Republicans plan to continue to vote against ending the war in Iran. Most of the talk about wanting the war to end immediately is wishcasting as opposed to "I will vote to do so."

Declare victory and leave. Build the Iran War Triumphal Arch. Just quit…please

But by midday Sunday, the president appeared to have reversed himself again. There would be no U.S. airstrikes against the Houthis, at least not for the time being, according to administration officials.-NYT

I teach high school Economics. Here’s how I explain trade deficits to them: “Your family has a trade deficit with Vons.” That gets them about 90% of the way there in less than thirty seconds. 😁 Trump is a moron and would fail my class.

My theory on the AI pause the leaders are pushing is actually that they can’t afford the arms race. Open AI and Anthropic will run out of capital and want to slow their spend

Your family is psychically vulnerable to President Carter’s wandering spirit. He can enter minds and infect them with thoughts of solar panels. To prevent this you can make or buy a specially designed net to ensnare his ghost, and it’s also a piece of art that brings both protection and beauty.
