I figured I'd write a short something wondering why Sam Alito said we couldn't force Texas to change its unconstitutionally gerrymandered maps in December because people there need "certainty" but he's happy to help Louisiana change its maps now, even as ballots have already sent...

Congressional Republicans. 1. Say whatever justifies their goals. Lie if needed. 2. Win. 3. Never let any previous "ethical stance," stop them from doing the opposite if needed to win. 4. Repeat.

It’s simple: he just wants to put his hand in the scales in favor of his party, and he doesn’t care about how hypocritical it looks or that it has no reasonable basis in the law.

The destruction of the Supreme Court's legitimacy is complete. If the justices would exit their intellectual safe space of Heritage Foundation roundtables they would see that. (I think the three liberal justices are painfully aware of that fact)

Well, of course, because it’s reached panic point and we can’t possibly allow this country to be lost to those who would supplant straight white Christian men from their rightful place at the top of the American social order. Our country is at stake! 🙄

Justice Alito was mad about the Little Sisters of the Poor having to provide contraception to their employees, but taking away the value of the your vote, the cornerstone of a democracy, no bigs.

The answer is super clear: As you say, the only log8cal rationale for the SCOTUS decisions are power to the GOP, likely for racist reasons. That's where we are. We have a racist, power hungry SCOTUS that couldn't give a shit about the Rule of Law.

It’s giving big time “Biden Rule” vibes. Make up a “principle” to excuse a partisan power grab, then immediately violate and abandon that same principle the absolute second it would harm partisan interests. Bad enough for Congress, but judges aren’t supposed to work that way

Bert Callais is a 2020 election denier who was at the capitol riots on January 6 and Sam Alito had an upside down American flag outside his house on the same day. This is shameless conflict of interest, right?
