it's weirdly objectifying, completely kills zero mission's pacing for a shitty stealth section, and they kept shoehorning it into every single game and it looks like ass in half of them

i have a lot of personal gripes with how samus is portrayed in dread but it's also a massive step up from what nintendo was doing to her in the 2000s

to give retro some credit here this 100% wasn't their idea (and the model was rushed) and they redeemed themselves with prime 4 (the one good thing I'll say about that game)

also for years they kept using it for cameos in other games, why does link get a normal fit but samus gets the skintight bodysuit

if they were going to give her a skintight bodysuit the least they could have done is given her a rad bodybuilder physique instead of lithe white girl

they have gotten better about this in the newer games admittedly but even then they still did it best in super metroid
