Gowdy implies that more than 50% of Republican senators would vote against Gaetz

Gowdy: I talk to senators all the time… The head count is not even 50/50 on one of them. One of them can't even get half the Republican senators. But I will let you guess from our earlier discussion who that might be.

We’ve learned that what Republicans say to your face. They do something completely different behind your back!! The only way we can keep our democracy is if the Republicans hold the line..

It will be interesting to see how far Trump‘s reach has progressed. No decent human being accepts Gaetz in the new position, but standing up to Trump comes costly for the career. We will see how much decency they have left!

The problem with us all wanting to see Gaetz go down and looking to a corrupted body of Senators to send him away, is that Trump is a convicted felon and Gaetz isn’t. He might be soon but there’s really no logic being employed here.

I heard one of your senators earlier, justifying his fielty to #Trump by saying "when he (Trump) asks us to jump, we say how high?" or something along those lines. What he is actually doing is shout "Stoop" and they are all going "How low sir, how low?" (Mat Gaetz for AG is how low (for now)).

I’m guessing this was all to throw speaker Johnson a lifeline to not have their 1st order of business expelling a sitting congressman for a damning report about underage sex. He knew his confirmation wouldn’t go through, but gave him a reason to resign so the report was squashed at the last second.

Spkr Johnson, wants nothing more than to run this house so they could push this agenda. Even if it means covering up for him. There is not a soul on this planet that believed he was getting through, but again give him a reason to never release that report and not force Rs to vote to expel him

He said in a presser, that they believe they’d be able to have that seat filled by the beginning of Congress. This was his endgame. To not have to embarrass the party with her first vote in Congress being to expel Gaetz, but instead have that seat already filled in January. Johnson is smart and evil

At this point, I don’t trust anything—polls, opinions, all wrong. 🤷🏼‍♂️🙅🏼‍♂️ Wishful thinking, but who knows? Feels like Bizzarro World where the opposite is true, lies win, and truth no longer holds. 😶
