Go, Joe! If Justice were blind, most of us would know of Hunter Biden only as the troubled son of a politician, of which there are plenty. The usual outcome for his offences would be a plea deal, upon proof of the defendant's efforts to maintain sobriety, resulting in reduced charges or dismissal.

Biden did the right thing pardoning Hunter. It is impossible to stay on "high ground" when the swamp is rising around you. Unfortunately, the GOP will now unfairly use this as an example of Biden's corruption, dragging him down to Trump's level, which may have been Trump's goal all along.

Not in the US. A convicted felon on 34 counts gets to be POTUS. Another felon was nominated for an ambassador. Btw, not all felons are equal. Nobody in the US gets to be charged for what Hunter Biden got charged for.

I understand. I kinda thought this may happen because I was thinking about Hunter's case a couple days ago with regards to the incoming government and the people being picked. Then I saw the video Trump posted to Biden. I started to wonder if Hunter would get targeted.

I normally don't either. But the incoming administration would've gone over the top with sentencing and stuck him in general. And that, given the context of what he did and frankly who he is, isn't appropriate. I back this 100%.

The focus on HB was so obviously politically motivated and beyond the norm of anything done before (like displaying nude private pics on the floor of Congress) that this was the only moral and logical outcome. I'm surprised POTUS did it but so glad he did. This ugly chapter is hopefully over.

I agree. Surely Biden's team has looked at it from every angle and this was the right choice. Luckily, he has real advisors, not yes men. Tomorrow they will have worked on strong messaging to defend what needed to be done, beyond "Trump did it, so we will too". I'm really going to miss the Bidens!
