What is happening in the US is the same that has happened in every fascist state in history: oligarchs exploiting hate to increase their wealth and power. We thought it couldn't happen here, but we were wrong.

I don't think the country can ever be the same. Yes, he and his gang will be eventually gone. But his "people" will still be around. And it will be an impoverished nation, materially and spiritually.

Before I was a politician, I was a proud union member. I’m honored to stand with my union brothers and sisters on Labor Day and every day. In the Senate, I’ll fight to raise pay, lower costs, and empower Texas workers.

Flock cameras have no place in Texas. They can piece together an exact map of your behavior — the places you went and how long you were there. Flock calls this “pattern-of-life” mapping. Texans call it something else: government overreach.

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.

Let me just say that I truly admire the legendary Bruce Springsteen. He’s an incredibly talented artist, an actual American patriot, a fighter for democracy and a good human being.

Saying The Quiet Part Out Loud Dept.-Kinda sounds like he's admitting he interfered in the election with VERY specific statistics. I quit Twitter because he bought it, way before his confession he stole the election for the Orange Atrocity. 🍊💩 Now I'm SURE I made the right decision! 👍

I cannot adequately explain how fucked up the World Cup situation is wihen the president of a host nation *threatens the safety* of one of the participants (Iran). The USA should be removed as a host nation and if it's not, the games shoud be boycotted and ANYONE WITH A MORAL CENTER should see that.

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact. How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.

Appreciate it, Elie. I really busted my ass to cover Trump's presser, live-posting half of it through bad wifi on a flight and then racing to an airport bar to get the rest. If you find value in my efforts, it would mean a lot to me if you signed up for my newsletter: www.publicnotice.co/subscribe

Honestly don’t understand how @atrupar.com does this shit every day. The level of stupid is off the fucking chain.

The Price of Mercy is a searing, compassionate, and utterly necessary book. Its insights are brilliant, its proposals pragmatic, and its potential impact on crime and punishment profound. It’s a must read.

Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court. Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business. As well as everyone else who stepped up.

CBS and the FCC didn't want Stephen Colbert to broadcast his interview with Texas State Representative James Talarico, so he did it and uploaded to his YouTube channel. Watch it, share it around, since apparently the bad guys in charge don't want you to hear it: youtu.be/oiTJ7Pz_59A

"The president should remove it." No. That should say, "The president should be removed."

Every day the racist, fascist, orange pedo pig in the WH manages to hit a new rock bottom. Photoshopped monkey heads on the Obamas is a level of racism and vileness, so deeply rooted in hatred like we’ve never seen before. Nothing intimidates or triggers Trump more than this beloved couple.

When I saw Liam at the Dilley Detention Center, something was clearly wrong. He was lethargic, not eating, and depressed. Thankfully, Liam and his dad are back home in Minneapolis with their family. No child should ever endure this. We will not stop until this cruelty ends.

To all the Minnesotans who are making their voices heard and protesting peacefully: The world is watching, and when change comes, it will be because of you.

It says something about this moment that this amazing Epstein drop today, shockful of Trump crimes, is not even one of the top 5 trends on Bluesky.

So the homicide was premeditated. Planned in advance. Agents knew they wanted to kill him, so they prepared for the opportunity and took it. Thanks for helping NYT.

More than a week before federal agents killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, different agents pushed him to the ground after he spit at them and broke a taillight on their SUV, according to newly unearthed videos. Watch here.

@jonrauch.bsky.social: If historians object that Trump is not a copy of Mussolini or Hitler or Franco, the reply is yes—but so what? Trump is building something new on old principles. He is showing us in real time what 21st-century American fascism looks like. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

theatlantic.comYes, It’s FascismUntil recently, I thought it a term best avoided. But now, the resemblances are too many and too strong to deny.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

I’m running for Congress in NY-12, my home. We have a demented, criminal president running the country like a mob operation—government by the boss, for the boss. We need Democratic fighters who will defend the rule of law and deliver government by the people. Join us.
