Yeah that’s why the most efficient EV uses D cell batteries and just ejects from the vehicle one at a time when they’re depleted. No sense carrying around dead cells

it was a smart design choice to fire them out the back for extra propulsion, despite what the drivers behind may say

I think it would be more efficient to burn the old D battery cells and use the heat to spin a steam turbine

true, but it would be more fun to skip all the steam business and shoot the batteries directly into the turbine blades
