the gamer entitlement is fucking insane. they're yelling at a developer who has spent a decade of his time writing Dolphin and PPSSPP for using Claude to build a prototype. the same people who don't pay for their emulator, certainly don't pay for ROMs are entitled to bully developers now?

Easy: yes, that weasel should be bullied until they go away. Society only functions if you’re allowed to shame pedophiles, white-supremacists, and the fake developers who fund them.

Exactly the type of antisocial behavior I was talking about. What's this now about pedophiles and white supremacists??

Obviously? That's what my entire thread is about. Why do you conflate AI users with pedophiles though, that's curious

"fake developers" lol tell me you don't know any professional developers without telling me

I usually hire, manage and pay them because I’m a Senior Product Manager by trade, but I have fun contributing to some open source projects myself, so yes, I am a better developer than any child-fancying LLM pervert on this website.

ah, a PM thinking they know how to write software better than professional developers with decades of experience... a tale as old as time that is of course setting aside the weird pedophilia accusations coming out of left field...

no idea where this antisocial norm comes from, that it's okay to bully developers if they make a choice you don't like, that you're entitled to throw your shit whenever. behaving like literal children, throwing a tantrum

I feel like the Nazi bar tweet permanently warped online leftist behavior (because once you see everything as a form of Naziism, every attack becomes not only morally justified but morally obligatory)

I find it really interesting that there aren't more anti-ai people who have decided to learn to program. It seems the obvious thing to do. If you don't want to use AI tech, learn how to build and adjust stuff yourself. Instead it's just weird complaining about how people don't do free stuff now.

Wait, I just realised I may have misunderstood. Sorry. By “it’s unworkable bullshit” did you mean that they realise the complaints are not good faith criticism?

I suspect poor self efficacy. I’ve been thinking about it recently, and that’s what I keep landing on. I wonder if people don’t know how to learn on their own, and don’t know how to get started on a new skill. It turns out the barrier is often lower than expected, but it’s hard to know that.

I have a fringe theory that millions cooked their brains on Discord during lockdown by getting into/dating giant toxic group chats full of gamers and developers, which caused them to absorb their worst personality traits while also hating tech by association for the rest of their lives

It's rampant. Every decision that I don't like is the greedy game developer trying to screw me, in particular, for some reason. The constraints of running a business or physical reality are irrelevant. All the matters is me, a baby bird, getting content dropped into my mouth just the way I like it.
