I have a lot of new followers, and I hear bluesky has a lot of new users! Welcome, friends! I belong to the Bluesky School of Thought that when we see someone being trash, we do the thing that will upset them most: we immediately block them and forget they ever existed. Trust me: they HATE IT.

On Bluesky, when you block someone it's NUCLEAR. If they quote-posted you, your post disappears from theirs. If they were in your replies, people can't see them anymore. On bluesky you have the power to literally render your enemies invisible and voiceless. Be the petty fucker who embraces it!

You can also limit replies after the fact. NOTE: if you limit replies in your top post of a thread, all the other posts in that thread will have their replies automatically limited in the same way. But if you have to disable quote posts on each post in the thread individually.

fyi, I believe that if you limit replies *after the fact*, you will also have to do so individually on each post in the thread—the changes *won’t* be inherited from changing the reply settings on the original post in thread.

you do not! that is the only way I've ever limited replies tbh, I never remember to do it in advance. LOL

Finally, every time we have a new influx of users, the timeline immediately gets less accessible for all of our friends using screen readers. In your settings, there is an accessibility menu. Under that, there's this lovely little box you can click that will remind you to add alt text to images!

Adding alt text just so everyone can be included is reason enough, but if you need more: alt text helps you search your own posts to find things, and helps others find posts when they are searching! Speaking of searching, in the search bar type from:me plus a keyword & it'll search your posts!
