tomorrow i would really like to challenge a few folks with larger followings than me to adopt a rent and raise it in one day. my little group chat and my followers have paid like 70 families rents in the past four days. i believe that some of y’all could help us keep one family housed.

Can I ask how we adopt a rent, Ashley? Do we just pick one of the listings under "Rent Relief Funds" and point people there, or is there another list for specific rents?

you message me, asiniiwiikwe.72 on signal, i give you one family and their rent need, you have people venmo you, you venmo the family in one transaction once you hit the target, and send me a screenshot on signal and then i mark it on my list and give you a little digital kiss on the forehead

basically none of these rent funds either 1. have enough for everyone or 2. can get it to them fast enough so we are doing it peer to peer so no one is fundraising a ton and getting their venmo frozen

we have a list of folks we have prioritized because they are at immediate risk of eviction, have large families, have lost a breadwinner to ICE detention, etc coming directly from people who know them

when people first started talking about venmo, i learned and forgot what it was like literally three times. i kept having to google it again. i am not kidding.

we do have some zelle and cashapp needs too, if you guys want even more apps. god i hate zelle.

I had to install cash app because the lady who helps me with housework uses it. 😂 I feel like such an Old. But we will figure it out and get some folks some money!!
