hmmm so there are..39 democrats who are supportive of Trump attacking Ilhan?

The persecution of @repilhan.bsky.social just days before an election is vile and politically-motivated. I'm leading 175 House Democrats in denouncing this. When we retake power, we have to seriously look at how we can stop these abuses of power — starting with the power of the purse.

Reupping this thread because I'm not sure who convinced a bunch of Democrats that the way out of authoritarianism is to concede on EQUAL RIGHTS, but I can *promise* that it won't work. It never has.

If folks in the Democratic party cannot find it within themselves to be absolute staunch supporters of trans people's rights because trans people are people who have inherent worth, then they should at least do it because if we give up on trans people, then we're literally giving up on democracy.

The achievement of Serbian students overthrowing Aleksandar Vučić can't be overstated. In 2024, they began protesting. In 2025, they transformed a protest movement into civil dissidence. In 2026, they became a political party — and two months later, crushed a corrupt state-entrenched authoritarian.

itching to get to post something like this on november 4th.

The mobilization itself was already not something I ever expected to see, but to actually win? Hell, to double the winning margin from the 2022 runoff? Genuinely surreal. Maybe child raping billionaires *don't* have to run the world with a shit-eating grin. Maybe that can stop.

there should be a show like “name that tune” where a person shows each ingredient and starts cooking until someone can guess what they are cooking

anyone else who gives big scary speeches have tips for not crying while you deliver emotionally impactful words? lol do i just practice it until i feel dead inside?

wellstone was the first politician i ever got to volunteer for. people love to quote “we all do better when we all do better” but i try to live by this one: “If we don't fight hard enough for the things we stand for, at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them.”

Twenty-four years ago today, on October 25, 2002, Minnesota lost Senator Paul Wellstone. We also lost his wife, Sheila, and their daughter, Marcia. Campaign staffers. Today, take moment to honor Wellstone's amazing legacy.

i will never forget the day he died, i was in at the minnesota youth in government state convention and it was just a sea of tears

Early this year, I visited Ingram, a TX town of ~1,900, to check out a tip. The area was starting to recover from its worst flood in a century. But as Latino workers drove to jobsites to help rebuild, the tipster said, a cop in a black Dodge Charger kept stopping them ... 🧵

just a few more years and i will be recruiting for my 19th century village within a walled off compound in the woods

we will, of course, also have to build a roof made from faraday trees to ward off the drones and satellite photos and surveillance devices

yes of course they were very accepting of queer and trans people and people of color in 1832. in fact everyone was gay and brown.
