dear god PLEASE let this also lead to a wider acceptance that treatment needs to include *improving quality of life* and not just "how to make them have baby"

as I was discussing with @rahaeli.bsky.social the other day, the way the glp-1 hit my entire system and fixed like 8,000 seemingly disconnected issues I've struggled with for decades made it clear that my metabolic issues, my hormone issues, and my autoimmune issues were THROWING A RAVE TOGETHER.

Dayum that’s amazing and I am so happy that we are FINALLY researching this shit and I am so PISSED it’s the year 20fucking26 and we’re only just now finding this shit out!

and the way medicine so often completely ignores the metabolic aspect of PCOS (outside of yelling at people to lose weight so, again, they can Has Baby) is just so aggravating. LIFETIME OF RAGE BUBBLING OVER HERE.

as a fellow PMOS-haver, i'm so glad they're formally recognizing the fact that this is an *endocrine disorder* that affects multiple body systems, not just "your ovaries don't work good :( :("

fat phobia in medicine is out of this world i carry a few extra pounds, i am not and never have been worried about it having been skinny my whole life but now it feels like doctors obsess about any kind of extra weight people carry

YES. Tirzepatide improved my quality of life so much, but it isn’t FDA-approved for PCOS/PMOS so my insurance stopped covering it. Now I either need to come up with thousands of dollars or use a sketchy compounding pharmacy.

I hate this SO MUCH for all of us!!!!!!! (I have been on the same roller coaster. the direct pay thing is no longer like $600/month but it's still UNREASONABLE when we just want to fuckin' live!!!)
