I agree. We need him as Gov. in PA. I said that often when people were pushing him for VP. He could easily be a good choice for 2028 POTUS, though hard leftists will find an issue or two against him i.e. school vouchers.

I switched from “D” to “I” when Dems were willing to lose democracy because they didn’t want to hurt an elderly man’s feelings & firmly tell him to not run again. Before that they kept insisting his slurred speech was an impediment, not age. So, no, Dems can be just as cultish as reds.

On the whole, they are better at this than Republicans. There are exceptions to everything of course. But for instance, when Robert Menendez was indicted, many Democrats called for his resignation. That wouldn’t have happened in the Republican Party.

There is definitely something physically/mentally wrong based on his recent behaviors. Idol not know if it true but I read he had stopped taking his meds because he felt better. He probably felt better because of the meds. He needs to take a time out and get help and let someone else take over

Or.... professional counseling. I'm so tired of Dem purity standards instead of supporting each other. Especially during this administration. This is not an ethical or moral defect. This is fixable. I'm more suspect of members who are committing insider trading.

This has been my question for months. Not just Fetterman's case but there are members of the GOP that clearly belong in assisted living. Also, there seems to be no way to recall or compel a member of Congress to resign that stops acting in the interest of their constituents.

Agreed. Not to negate what he is experiencing right now, especially as we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month but our democracy is being challenged and he needs to resign and allow Shapiro to replace him with someone that will represent his state and be better prepared for the midterms.

She is such a lovely woman and I can't even imagine what she is going through right now. This change in him cannot be easy for her to cope with. She seriously needs to get him some help.

How exactly do you suggest she intervene? Unless he turns himself in for treatment at a hospital there's no legal way to get him help. The other possibilities are too dark to even consider.

I hear you but we need Shapiro to stay right where he is. Times of federal fascism call for strong opposing governors. Only new thing I took away from this news piece is that Aaron Chapin seems like a decent guy. We know Fetterman has MH issues impeding his performance.

But they won't do that even if he did resign theyd find some unelectable like casey. any time a great dem leader w political longevity comes they push them into the Presidency If Obama Clinton Gore Carter etc stayed in congress another 20 years we just might have made progress by now

Eventually, he’ll have an incident that is so terrifying and bizzare that his family may decide for him. He is not well and he is not getting better. Either way Schumer should have a conference with him, but he’s so feckless he’ll do nothing.

It's sad to say, but it's clear he was far more affected by the stroke than anyone knew. He seems to be getting worse, not better. He probably should resign and let Gov. Shapiro chose someone to take his place.

Stress can cause onsets. A friend of ours has a stressful incident lately which brought on his MS, and now (at age under 35) has to go through all kinds of therapies (think speech, OT) as well as lesrn how to walk & have a normal life again - but will he?

Did u catch the video of Fetterman being a dick and holding up the plane, refusing to show his seatbelt? He’s spiraling HARD. Get him out!

“…that the senator appeared to be off his recovery plan and was exhibiting alarming behavior, including a tendency toward “long, rambling, repetitive and self-centered monologues.” Damn, this man is President material in this country!!

Or.... Democrats could expel him. Who else is tired of expecting politicians to put their constituents' interests ahead of their own? Who else is tired of the circus? Democrats should do what they know Republicans only do when their donors get upset.

It’s not that I dislike Fetterman: I fucking hate him! He’s clearly mentally ill! Why isn’t his family stepping in?! We are so screwed. Stuck with him until 2028 unless someone reasonable can intervene.

Let’s be serious. After his election win, Fetterman was hospitalized for a severe mental condition. He was placed on psychiatric medication. These medicines have side effects, including the possibility of extreme behavioral change. The man serving is NOT the man who was elected.

There must be a 13th amendment equivalent for senators that allows for replacement for medical reasons? I ask everyone to remember that Fetterman is a victim of a catastrophic brain injury, he is blameless. Others must step in.

You know, the sad part is that Democrats defended him constantly when the Republicans were attacking him about his mental health. Democrats went to the mat for him and he is crapping on our values and rights now. 😡

And the rightwing nutjobs are squawking about how we were all OK with him until he became obsessively pro-Israel and somewhat supportive of Trump. As if that's not a symptom of his mental decline.

Does that last bit sound like anyone else you know? hmmm? senator appeared to be off his recovery plan and was exhibiting alarming behavior, including a tendency toward “long, rambling, repetitive and self-centered monologues.”

He probably is having treatment , but if he suffered synaptic loss w sensorial of loss of taste or smell ,he really should not be working like this, or should have an extra assistant . Suffering synaptic loss can be devastating , and it can take a couple years until the brain settles.

I have some doctors in high regards, but unfortunately, my success rate is as bad as with attorneys. Our capitalist HC model in the US makes doctors prescribe RX out of wazoo, just to make money , and that's wrong. If doctors could spend more time listening to patients, patients would benefit.

the experience of doing food detox and throwing all pills in the trash can, gave me within a few days great results, and hope for a better future. I can only share what worked for me, and I saw many other reports about the same. Mineral deficiency at his age, can also be a prob , on top.

Well, I sympathize with that somehow, since pills are not the right answer for everyone. Now if he is overdoing something else, that's above my pay grade. For brain health, lion's mane mushroom, smoked salmon and blueberries helped me, and I still see some benefits when i can afford .

Mental health doesn't ask us when the time is convenient. Just like cancer doesn't ask, nor does diabetes ask, nor does any chronic illness ask. This is the American Disability Act. It protects us all and I for one, have had to take a leave. But I came back well.

The issue is that Fetterman's mental faculties are so negatively affected that he doesn't have the judgement to step away and get help. It is thus fair, reasonable, & very necessary that due to his gross incompetency due to his mental health / stroke, he has to go, now!
