Of course there is no need to limit this strategy to scrapers. Buy out whatever is on sale for ICE Friday and then return it as late in the season as possible. Ditto with holiday decorations. If you get free Roadie delivery, help keep the drivers busy & give them treats when they arrive…

Those were my first thoughts too. It’s might be costly to Amazon but not fair on the delivery person who has to carry that from the van to door and back, if it’s pick up for return.

Also, in what would otherwise be a likely high-performing store they're bringing down the store's UPTs, units per transaction, by purchasing only 1 inexpensive item. These are heavily analyzed stats. Would be even better if they spread this activity out over an entire district/region, 5-9 stores.

This would be a positive change. If people started losing faith that they could return things to Home Depot, they might buy fewer things at Home Depot. While that is a move they can make it digs the whole deeper.

Tunnel visioned focus on one business. Lowes is worse. They dont allow daylaborers on their site. bsky.app/profile/mhow...

Lowe’s isn’t really any better, just less media coverage around the anti-DEI and ICE raids at their stores. They also donated more to Trumps campaign than Home Depot finance.yahoo.com/news/lowes-b...

I am starting to love my country again! All is not lost. Our redemption is possible. Keep fighting the GOOD FIGHT everyone! So proud of you! And I feel compelled to point out that there are indeed a lot of white people that are stepping up & making personal sacrifices to protect their immigrant/1

Community members. They are at least 1/2 of all the attendees at protest marches. It may not seem like it but we have changed a lot of hearts & minds in the past 60 yrs. And though there is still much to do we are making strides. This political climate is fostering further growth by forcing us to/2

It's private property. They can post it that ICE is not allowed on tbe property. So far, they are supporting ICE raids on their property. This protest is to get their attention and stop allowing raids.

My research indicates Home Depot's PAC does not donate to presidential campaigns. Home Depot's co-founder, Bernie Marcus, donated personally to Trump. However, Home Depot is now a publicly traded company and Marcus died three years ago and had no role in the company since 2002.

Where tf are you getting, "they donate bigly to Trump"!? HD gives NO contributions to either party in Presidential elections. HD has associate donated PACs, that are weighted towards R's, but that's on the employees, not HD. Spewing baseless misinformation is fucking shameful. Do better.

Home Depot does not have a single owner, but Bernard Marcus, a co-founder and former CEO, was a major Republican donor and a strong supporter of Donald Trump before his death in November 2024.

Their not victims. They are collaborators to this facist regime. They are on private property and could have ICE removed from their locations. BOYCOTT THE BASTARDS.

Plus it is not a public parking lot. Home Depot owns or rents the parking lots. THEY ARE PRIVATE PROPERY. Just like the elderly couple in North Carolina demanded ICE get off their property when questioning day laborers. See not hard unless you are a collaborator like Home Depot

They should pay cash with two dimes, and when they run out of pennies to give for change, they will have to give nickels, lowering the effective price to 15 cents. Then, insist on a cash refund and they will get two dimes back, meaning they made, further lowering the effective cost to 12 cents.

Yeah, common credit card fees are between 15 and 25 cents per transaction and between half and one and a half percent of the transaction. The big drawback with credit cards is it positively identifies you and potentially attaches your name to this protest.

It would make more sense to boycott the store entirely if Home Depot is allowing ICE to harass or arrest people on their property. Who fucking came up with this bright idea? 17 cents isn’t going to break the bank, but an entire days sales would.

In sync with the "We ain't buying it" boycott of Home Depot, Amazon and Target from 11/27-12/1, people could buy ice scapers from Amazon and Target and then return them...

I just pre-shopped Home Depot and Amazon online and then just bought a lot of hardware for several projects at my local True Value hardware store, two blocks from my house. They still provide customer service; go figure.

the *lack* of response/action (e.g. no official statement condemning ICE kidnapping workers on their property) is enough reason for local residents to be angry at Home Depot

Okay, that's all I found as well. Was wondering if they were in active support of ICE, which I'd boycott. Would prefer they take a stance against authoritarianism, but I don't expect a US blue-collar handyman company to sacrifice business to protect anyone. Happy enough they're neutral.

There are speculations about them sharing parking area security videos etc but unconfirmed. Also, they didn’t need to “sacrifice business to protect anyone”. A strongly worded statement, even if just for PR purposes, probably would have saved them from the boycott. Yet here they are 🤷‍♀️

In a moment built on cruelty, kindness becomes rebellion. It’s how we stay human, how we fight back, how we refuse the world they want us to accept. I wrote about the small acts that save us and why they matter now more than ever 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 open.substack.com/pub/thejenni...

It’s incredible to see good people doing anything they can do to stand up against the destruction of our democracy, every effort matters.

No reason? The oligarchs are destroying our country and future. This costs them money. It is literally the ONLY thing they care about. The employees get paid either way. Customers of the fascist Home Despot get inconvenienced.

They brought attention to Dodge and Musk lost approximately $80B. Just like Target lost 25% on its stock. These are successful ways for everyday America to act.
