I’m not sure I’m ready for the SCOTUS rulings today, but here they come. Holding all my trans friends in my heart as we wait.

Yeah; I think that any decision made by the corrupt Roberts court shouldn't be considered judicial precedent in the future.

There's no predicting what this SCOTUS will do. They are all over the place with wildly different interpretations of the Constitution and the rule of law. The only constant is that Thomas and Alito will rule to screw over anyone who isn't paying them off.

Notice they always focus on trans women and rarely talk about trans men. I know it's because they see them as "broken women" and "not much threat to cis men." Still, the fact that it's always so heavily skewed one way shows how much their arguments break down the second you include trans men.

Of course, it's not about "protecting women." It's just about punishing queer folks as well as rampant misogyny. They think that any fat sack of out of shape crap could beat a cis female MMA fighter just because he's male.

With the current SCOTUS makeup, there was never going to be a good outcome. The dehumanizing of vulnerable citizens continues, and gender conformity and gender norms dig their archaic claws in deeper.

There are many ways to keep sports fair, banning trans kids from competing in sports isn’t one of them. This isn’t about fairness, this is about punishing trans people. I am sickened by this ruling.

It's not fair that I am forced to compete with people who have a genetic advantage over me, purely because we are both women... Yes, this is about punishing trans people, but all women will potentially be subjected to having to prove that they are not trans. This doesn't protect women at all.

The nations burns, the government runs a criminal conspiracy, but a couple of dozen people dominate the headlines. Proving once again, americans are fascinated by bright shiny objects that effect almost no one.

You cannot play with girls because of an advantage they assume you have. You cannot fairly play with boys because medical transition removed or prevented the advantage they insist defines you. Therefore, you don’t really get sports. Seems both fair and not a slippery slope to a third class citizen

As an athlete all my life. I support women's sports. I just don't get how people support a boy jumping in a race against a girl and wiping the floor with her. I hate that.

Because it doesn't happen. Do you support another woman wiping the floor with me (a cis woman) because she is genetically gifted where I am not? I've directly competed against 2 trans women & had 0 trouble beating both of them. But no matter how hard I train there are cis women I will never beat.

It does happen. A simple google search brings up the Connecticut State meet in track. Two boys went 1-2 in the sprints..beating all the actual girls. The fastest girl in connecticut that year was a boy.

Americans fetishize sports that are as obscure as the number of trans kids playing them. Who knew high school girls’ shot-put was such a front burner sport. It tracks w/ US contempt for other peoples’ kids. More states have open carry than paid family leave, school meals & U pre-k combined.

Already down 1. It's time to make college free or get rid of high school sports. bsky.app/profile/stev...

First (but *not* last) #SCOTUS ruling is the two transgender discrimination cases. For the usual 6-3 majority, Justice Kavanaugh *upholds* state bans on transgender athletes in public sports under *both* Title IX and the Fourteenth Amendment: www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

This is one of those times when it is appropriate for me to say, "Back in my day ..." We never even thought of whether a person was a man or a woman, if they told us or showed us that they were a woman, we didn't care what anyone else said about it!
