Which color function do you prefer?

i wish i could say there was "just one" to go with, but there isnt! - sometimes lightness adjustments are best, but suck at edge cases - sometimes adding white is best, but can desaturate - sometimes adding black is best all depends on the source color and what you're aiming towards…

0% lightness not being black and 100% lightness not being white makes absolutely no sense 😭

Another scenario where lightness is making no sense

I’m curious if you have looked into how much this is due to out of gamut colors getting clipped instead of mapped?

You could specially map chroma towards 0 (like done with lightness), this would get back to making color steps. But question is, would the steps be good as you pull chroma out?
