I saw him on my birthday in 1992 at the intimate basement Lone Star Roadhouse in NYC. He was on his "Multi-Purpose Tour," his first in over a decade, with a small 4-piece band. The music was perfect; some old, some yet to be released. And he was surprisingly shy!

"I Wanna Rock, And Also Be Free" TS was essentially a Long Island band; they would have weekly concerts at either My Father's Place in Roslyn (where I usually saw them) or at the Mad Hatter in Quogue. If they weren't playing, it was the Good Rats. I only saw them on $5 pitcher nights!
