Fire Point says its long-range FP-9 ballistic missile is currently undergoing flight tests. Developers say Ukraine lacks enough territory for a full-range ballistic test, meaning the missile's future military trials could transition directly into operational launches against Russian targets #Ukraine

I haven't seen any evidence of performance problems with the Flamingo. It has performed as expected. What too many people underestimate is the sophistication and competence of Russian air defence. Flamingo is forcing Ru to use expensive and rare capabilities to limit its effectivenss: success.

Sober analysis, but I wouldn't call it a success yet. The question is, are flamingo missiles more costly for Ukraine to produce, than they are for the Russians to interdict?

The reporting is that Russia needs to use its shrinking fleet of A50's to counter flamingo. They have 4 airframes left and no replacement program. With a reported cost of a flamingo around $750k I think that is cost effective.

Russia field-tested Oreshnik by taking pot-shots at Ukraine. Compile data by doing the same to Russia Worst case, you get egg on your face. Big deal! Best case, you destroy something of great value and in so doing you plant the fear of god in the enemy! Win/win!

Main issue I see is with tech secrecy. If a missile lands in Russian territory and fails to detonate, the Russians have a more or less undamaged specimen to study and use as they wish

I'm primarily concerned about navigation and aiming systems. If the Russians can figure out how to spoof/jam those, the accuracy (and testing) will suffer

Unfortunately no. Yelabuga is about 1,200km from the Ukraine border, but the FP-9 has only 855km range. On the plus side, it can hit Moscow. You would probably need a major Flamingo and drone attack to destroy or seriously weaken the Yelabuga factory.
