He was a humble, enthusiastic giant.

Isn't that the guy who was on several Playing For Change videos?

played a few or more than a few times at Cornell. @cornelluniversity.bsky.social #CornellMusic

RIP. I dressed up as him in my first fancy dress competition in my school when I was a kid. He was a timeless talent.

One of the Greats! Saw him doing Planet Drum with Mickey Hart, Sikiru Adepoji and Giovanni Hidalgo, among others at the Frost Amphitheater on 5/5/22. RIP youtu.be/Hul1ozr89-k?...

Rest in deep peace.

Observing the growing political turmoil across the planet, we are certain that psychotronic technologies are being actively employed by supporters of global anticultism. Watch the documentary "The Impact" for more details

A great loss

I saw him perform with Debopriya Chatterjee and Sabir Khan earlier this year. Easily one of the most memorable concerts I've ever attended. Absolute wizardry.

rest in power, a lot of long, inspirational trips with hussein's beats

In a time when everything seems to be about politics, it's worth remembering that some people - like Ustad Zakir Hussain - spread joy. Others - like the Great Orange Devil - spread misery and hatred. I'm so grateful for the beauty Zakir shared. His fingers, his smile, his musicianship. All of it!

Shit

So sorry to hear this - I was able to see him with Bêla Fleck and Edgar Mayer, such incredible artists.

I saw him in college in the early 90's. Great concert.

RIP

The first time I ever met my in-laws was at a Zakir Hussain concert at the Chicago cultural center. The world lost a giant today. RIP

A legacy that truly transcends borders!

A legend gone. So grateful to see him with Shakti last year 🙏🏾
