It’s mostly marketing. The biggest dream of Vienna‘s ruling parties ist to build the Lobautunnel - an old-school fossil project which will destroy part of Vienna's national park, promote fossil-fuelled car traffic and destroy all efforts to achieve climate neutrality. And at a cost of billions.

Trump administration has a secret, novel approach to combatting climate change: 1. Population decline from deportations & shorter life expectancy by ending vaccinations & funding for healthcare, clean water, food safety, etc. 2. Decrease carbon footprint by stopping international trade & tourism.

Out of about 190 sovereign jurisdictions, only 15 have federal governments — roughly 9%. Most national governments are correctly described as "national" or "central," and there is a fundamental difference setting them apart from federal governments. Time for NPR to catch up on its political science.

Vienna is setting an example to follow for progressive climate action.🙂 Here in the USA - THE CONVICT and his lawless MOB are perpetrating climate vandalism on a CRIMINAL scale!🙃

Meanwhile the Regime in charge of America denies the science of Climate Change, while unconstitutionally gutting funding and firing people who work to mitigate impacts of it. ‘It’s a hoax!’ the rapist felon screams as he guts FEMA while more and more Billion dollar natural disasters occur.

but what makes it worse is how they are denying it in public BUT are taking active steps to fight it within the military and other agencies (well, while they were properly functioning). the GOP's rhetoric is just another lie to fuel culture wars to keep us distracted.

What a novel idea---a country actually taking steps to deal with climate change. But wouldn't that require the leaders to acknowledge that climate change is a real issue?

"Top 10 peaceful nations (2024 Global Peace Index): Iceland, Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia and Malaysia." Peaceful equates with economy, low crime, diversity, tourism, & cooperation (e.g. Austria re: climate change). US ranks #132 peaceful.

But sadly not a single word about the transition to a plant-based agriculture and food system, which are at least as important as the energy transition for reducing methane emissions and as important as the energy transition for reducing CO2 emissions.
