The link didn't work for me. I tried it. I know it should have. But it didn't. I can't say why. So I included a different link in case others share my experience. Obviously, you don't.

If they're changing the rules to "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" to "words CAN hurt me" then I think it's time we the people went out and got ourselves some sticks and some stones.

The obvious violation of the 1st Amendment aside, what sort of illegal surveillance is going on? Tracking US citizens without a warrant is still illegal, as far as I know. How did they find him at the hotel? We need Congress to get it's act together and stop this BS. Jeez.

ICE has admitted that @ 80% of the people who they have arrested for deportation had no criminal records. Americans should know that 33% of their fellow Americans do & that's a bigger # than 20 if you can't count. These people contributed time talent $ & labor here & we thank them enslaving them. 😡

So if you raise your voice to a bunch of thugs, they get upset about it and harass you. I hope in-person the words he used were a lot more colorful.

Regardless of the obvious overstepping of bounds regarding the first amendment and the insane amount of surveillance going into this - what a complete and utter waste of resources and taxpayer money.

Simple question to these clowns….if they truly thought he had committed a crime, they would have arrested him already. The fact that they haven’t is proof it wasn’t a threat.

Excellent reporting NPR!!! What a brave man Mr Steever is, thank you for writing about this. I think we should all send emails to the gentleman at ICE to express our concerns, what are they going to do, surveillance on us all? Not much to see at my place….

This is chilling. They were able to track this one man, from one email he sent, to his home, to a hotel after flying from Finland while on vacation with his daughter. One man out of millions of people in this country. If you think you're safe from their surveillance, you're not. He didn't

threaten anyone's life, it appears he wanted the person he sent the email to think about right and wrong after two people were murdered by ICE agents in Minnesota. ICE agents that still have yet to be held accountable.

Oops they name the agent. Trevor Pitts. Gee, are they coming to my door next for saying wenwill uold them accountable for harassing citizens?
