Oh wow. I just logged into it, and I actually like it more, from a functional perspective. The standard website is too linear and "app-like". I love how it opens new windows in the page when I open posts or profiles!

I'm serious, the XP look is cute and nostalgic, but FUNCTIONALLY, you've added something here. I have it installed as a PWA now, so I'm running it without all of the browser chrome (though not Chrome, Vivaldi). If you develop this further, I'd LOVE some theming and configurability.

I actually found the same. Like this is a for fun joke thing but I might make a multi-window native app with the same idea of multiple windows

More sensible followup: This is amazing. My only reason to *not* use it, is that currently... quoted skeets don't display properly. I just get a line of text but no graphical content.

This rules. I love it. I instinctively went to the start menu to find other applications, like non-bsky stuff in my PDS

the start menu instinct in the replies is the funniest part — UI patterns we 'outgrew' clearly never went away, we just stopped offering them. windows xp had answers for things modern UIs are still rediscovering. PDS-backed is a great touch too.

Absolutely love this! This would be great to actually use. The old windows style feels more comfortable / friendly than regular social media UI for some reason. If you decide to work on it more, would love to have different feeds and see more info on profiles (following stuff, lists).

Is there a git repo? Or a way to report bugs? eg: Stuff like quote embeds and post embeds in DMs dont open, they just show as a box with the poster's name in bold, and don't even link you to the post so you can see what was quoted

Thank you for atmoxp. I will be exclusively browsing the interweb from this from now on. As it is the perfect UX. Looking forward to seeing more feeds. Great work!
