It's ridiculous that Game 6 of the #WNBA Finals is scheduled for 12:30 pm on Thursday. These playoffs have been so fun and thrilling; it's indefensible to run a potential championship-deciding game in the middle of a workday. The WNBA and its fans deserve far better leadership.

My wife has been an election worker at the polls for the last 5+ years. This year, the election workers are being told they need to sign a pledge promising that they will not trade on prediction markets about the elections.

If you are someone that patched PHP today from packages someone else built, consider donating to those maintainers. People like Remi Collet carry a lot of water for the interwebs. Look for the Donate button. blog.remirepo.net

I remember EA’s first release of M.U.L.E. and how the company was seen as the most innovative and high quality game studio around. How things have changed. Nothing gold can stay.

Sysadmins across the world are dealing with the PHP update and waiting on downstream package updates. Stay strong my otherkin. 💪

On a whim, built an app that takes my subscribed RSS feeds and makes a ~10 minute audio podcast of the highlights. I called it cruftcast. Let's see if it works for my morning walks.

The will to power... far from being a characteristic of the strong, is, like envy and greed, among the vices of the weak, and possibly their most dangerous one. - Hannah Arendt

My prediction for the Apple smart home event. For smart home enthusiasts, it will be underwhelming. Weak Siri AI will flounder at simple tasks. The average person will be indifferent. The smart home ecosystem will remain confusing and difficult for most people.

Siri's current functionality starts to approach what was promised in 2024. That was two years ago. The idea that Siri is up to the far more complex tasks of managing physical smart home devices, far beyond basic LLM integration, is serious hopecore stuff.

Expounding my Digger review. The acting, visual production, & sound design are impressive. It fails everywhere else. It's not a satire. There is no humor. It's a tantrum. Rather that making a point, it just points anger everywhere. It's made for edgy film school students and not many others.
