Very cool benchmark! Thank you for doing it. As a reluctant react shill, I have to ask if React Compiler is being used and if it is in production mode.

You can check the code for yourself here: github.com/NullVoxPopul... But it is using prod mode. It's the default vite create template, so i don't think it's using the compiler. You're welcome to pr the compiler change tho!

It was useEffect. I switched the React tests to use useLayoutEffects, and React became much more competitive. If you remove the Incremental Render Effect, React becomes the second fastest behind Angular. github.com/NullVoxPopul...

I can’t see why it would? AFAIK react compiler optimises memoization and pure function returns etc. raw render updates aren’t going to be affected much by that, unless you’ve got a nasty recalc constantly running.

I'm not totally surprised, but this is good to verify -- are more and more react projects moving to react compiler by default? If so, the react compiler stuff can just be *the* react implementation, and we don't need two reacts
