He's a unicorn. Which is why MLB shut down any serious look into his involvement with gambling instantly and insisted everyone simply accept the narrative that he had absolutely no idea what his closest friend was doing with very large amounts of his money.

You're just parroting the official MLB line, which ordered the matter closed in early June, only three months after the IRS investigation became public. No one knows the actual truth, including what pressure was put on Ippei to adopt the final version of the story he copped to. /1

It's beyond naive to think a professional bookmaker with the ability to float millions in debt to a client is going to do that for someone on an interpreter's salary, without solid assurance there's, at a minimum, silent backing from someone who can actually cover that float. /2

Undeserving. The DH Ohtani set one impressive record (50 HR/50 SB). He didn’t carry the team. An MVP should be the player who led a team in a plurality of ways - on field play and others like team leadership and moral. Ohtani had one leg - Lindor had all 4. Lindor carried his team - and IS the MVP.

Facetious: He shouldn’t be MVP then- that’s for humans. What the hell has Lindor been eating to grow 4 legs? Cheat! Not silly: you’ve haven’t looked at Shohei’s stats if you think he isn’t tops in a plurality of them.

He was an offensive powerhouse. That’s it. He didn’t lead the Dodgers like a Captain; he didn’t play defensively at all; he didn’t hold court and right the team, he wasn’t a bench leader when not on the field - Lindor was all of those and more for the Mets. I’ll agree to disagree.

How do you know either guy did or didn’t? I didn’t see hm do any of these things since I am not privy to be there but Dodgers players have let slip l a strong respect for as him. Being a blowhard is culturally vulgar for him so it is much more likely he will not be doing much of this in public.

That’s all sentiment/opinion unless you were in the dugout with them, and not in line with what his teammates have posted/said. If one of the voters was a Mets reporter, their input on why they voted as they did would be valuable

Ohtani's gravity is not to be understated. People only look at his stats, they only look at that he's a DH. Think about how they pitch around him. If he's given a decent pitch, he's doing damage. So they don't pitch to him. They don't want to put base runners on ahead of him. The mental aspect.

Trump will encourage his pal, the vile dictator of North Korea, to bomb Japan. The New York Times helped Trump (NYT didn't report about Trump talking about Arnold Palmer's penis and the NYT falsely tried to say Biden had Parkinson's). www.yahoo.com/news/trump-p...

If that’s a comprehensive list, I can’t believe how few there are (and how trivial a few of those few are) in all their years of printing. Pretty impressive.
