So it wasn't an amazing technological feat of military equipment and intelligence that enabled the US submarine to locate the Iranian ship. They knew in advance where it had been and where it was likely headed; back home towards Iran.

The ship wasn't a threat and neither was Iran. The fishing boats they continue to blow up in the Pacific and Caribbean are no threat to U.S. Those murdered by ICE were no threat to the U.S. See the pattern here?
