Ron Johnson: "In Central America, I found out that if you become the new police chief, you get a DVD from the friendly drug cartel with your children and wife going into school and church ... there's such a demand for unmasking ICE officers, but they've been doxxed."

My father talked about how in the Ohio State Highway Patrol when he joined in the late 70s, there was a series of car bombings to officers - typically be Vietnam vets who had gone insane - a legitimate threat. So his address was requested to not be listed in the phone book. That's it.

The only thing Central American about this whole situation is that ICE currently resembles a Central American death squad or those thuggish prison guards at CECOT.

That argument's flawed. It can be argued that the reason for their safety is that masks are keeping them safe. The real argument is that we can't have what amounts to a masked paramilitary group roaming around the country. Some jobs are more dangerous than others and people sign up knowing the risks

The ICE people have nothing to fear as long as they: 1. Identify themselves properly 2. Carry arrest warrants for the people they want to arrest 3. Wear normal police uniforms. 4. Act like policemen rather than villains from a computer game.
