Chelsea is gone, but her story shouldn't be forgotten 💔

It took going on an African safari for it to register that captivity of animals is draconian living for God’s creatures. Barriers yes to protect humans from the wild; but who protects the wild from human inklings. Dolphins are our saaya (protector) if lost at sea. We heal wounded; take no hostages.

Oh, you’re serious here. You realize that Chelsea could just as easily have ended up on several dinner plates, or been a quick snack for an Orca, and never been the “free range” dolphin of your dreams. Sad.

Nope. Just not a “peta” person. Btw - would you have eaten vegetables grown on a farm where animals were used to plow fields, draw carts to market, etc. — before machinery existed? ALso, are any animals involved in growing & harvesting of the coffee beans used to make your espresso?

Clearly, the only reasonable thing to do is to provide these animals (at least the ones who are close enough to sapient that we care, which dolphins almost certainly are) with *opportunities* to leave for the open ocean, but also leave them free to stay in their current location if they prefer.

I visited dolphin tourist place in Florida Keys. Dolphins were enclosed in a pen for swim-with-dolphin events. Afterward, the enclosure was open to ocean & they were free to roam. They returned at a set time for free fish & hung around. Not ideal, but at least they were not imprisoned.

In the UK I live near Chester zoo. Elephants throughout the world are dying from the herpes virus. It doesn't affect us but it is fatal to baby elephants. As Chester zoo has elephants they are leading global research in curing this virus thanks to elephants in captivity. Still very sad for them

I have known many dolphin trainers. I liken them to pimps. ‘You want to watch the dolphins…that’ll be $50. You want to shake his flipper or hug him that’s an extra $50. You want to swim with him…$150.’ What deplorable conditions for such intelligent creatures.

I lived in Va Bch for 35 years, you have no room to talk about abuse. Remember the killing of puppies and kittens and tossing them in open dumpsters? Or when you were picketing a furrier and McDonalds, dragging dogs in 100+ heat on a sidewalk? However, your snips program was and is a hit!

We could ask the question of, if fund raising and awareness raising is needed to ameliorate the plight of wild dolphins (such as being caught in trash), is it moral to catch a dolphin and charge yea much to swim with it in a large pool? I'm not as certain as PETA is about whether that is evil.
