Just to hammer this home- there are no societal problems for tech to solve. We already solved then. We know how to do clean energy. We know how to cut emissions. We have the resources to feed and house everyone. We've shown UBI and univ. healthcare work. We just need to care enough to DO all of it.

The greatest difference we could make to our future generations is not…any of the shit we hear people saying about tech. It is learning how to care for each other enough to create and hold a real, lasting peace.

"We know how to fix things but there's no profit to be made in fixing things." If we know how often Big Oil just bought up the entirety of a clean energy project and just shelved it, we'd probably be astonished. Cold Fusion might already be a thing but we'll never know!

The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

All of this. I just said to my husband last night that I can’t see how, at this point, we could be in the “Star Trek” timeline. It seems like the controlling interests in this world are determined to take us into an apocalypse for the sake of relatively short-term profit. And we’re letting them.

It is unfortunately an issue of different values. as long as some people think growth and profit matter more then people we will keep having this problem. They are using money as a measure for "who is winning" and it never occurred to them that its not an zero sum game. We can all "win".
