I class, I use the much more anodyne "I never said your service was bad." Maybe this semester I'll put this on the screen after we do the, er, safer one!

unfortunately it works by using a series of Unicode italicized mathematical symbols instead of letters which plays havoc with assistive devices like screen readers which don't know they're being used to represent text so they read the full name of each character (like MATHEMATICAL ITALIC E) out loud

I don't think I've seen such an elegant way of saying this.

I remember like, ten years ago, @jjjacksfilms.bsky.social pointed out the same thing during a YIAY when he saw the sentence "I never said she stole money.". It was cool then, and it's cool now.

Really shows the importance of words and how they're emphasized. It bothers me so much that people also don't use correct punctuation often. Sometimes, I can't tell if someone is making a statement or asking a question, among similar readings in online chats.

I can't be the only one who thought this was going to read diagonally with `never` omitted from the italicized examples? Or have I just been on this app too long and everything reads as anti-capitalist anarchy?
