Your word isn’t worth much as you ask people to drop their subscriptions while posting videos on all those social nets you ask them to boycott. Isn’t that the problem with US today: everyone’s very much against killing protesters or raping children. Unless it hurts them politically or financially

He has explained that. These people own a monopoly on his channels. His access allows him to leverage it. He is asking you to surrender a few bucks or small part to contribute to a much greater collective goal. He isn't asking you to surrender the majority of your income.

But if we simply look at his actions, he’s not being sincere. Here’s why: he has no problem _earning money_ using the very networks he wants us to dump. Had he been sincere, we’d see zero ads, monetization turned off, and just asking people to support him via crowd funding

The case of Disney dropping Kimmel was extremely black and white. This looks like some vendetta. Let’s all just drop S&P500. Because it’s good for somebody like him. Rich, having no big firms full of employees to take care of, and saying “I’m in the business of building up and dumping businesses”

Well so it begins. No Amazon for a month. Outsourcing at first is a little more time consuming but you get a feeling of satisfaction from buying directly from either the manufacturer or a local source. Actually feeling very good about myself—-thanks

Why not adding "stop watching porn" to the unsubscribe lists???? As 25-30% of all outputs are sex related, a significant drop of traffic would be felt. Remove the holy cow and kick the "trust me bro's" in the balls were it really hurts!

Can you make a social media “package” for people to use to post their unsubscribes? I don’t use Instagram and would love a set of graphics to download and even prompts to customize. Spent some time trying to figure it out today and I’m not tech-stupid, just Instagram stupid.

I feel like this was a bad launch…to make an impact, you needed to announce a month in advance and coordinate to send a message. Surprised given your background. Now some are doing it scattered and the message can be “noise” in the recipients you want to send a message to.

This is just start though. We need to repeal Citizens United because they shouldnt be listening and backing down only when big companies complain. Once they get power and money it is so hard to get it pulled back. Citizens United will be harder to reverse than the repeal of Roe v Wade

I don’t have a psychiatric degree. But after watching appearances before Congress, reading interviews – each in their own way exhibit stages of Cognitive vs. Affective Empathy: The ability to intellectually "read" or "mimic" emotional states (cognitive) without actually feeling them (affective).

Now I understand why Apple+ reduced its subscription fee for six months. Customer retention. 3 issues w/Apple+: 1) It uses episodic network TV construct to keep ppl paying. 2) A Series airs once a year for 6-8 episodes. 3) Apple pulled a Houdini. Who they said they were is not who they actually are

Love this! I had already unsubscribed to some things last year, but it felt like it didn’t make any impact. Coverage of these efforts increases impact, and emboldens me to take on the remaining subs. (More dog cameos, please!)
