The main driver of “Biden inflation” was the impact on the supply chain of the pandemic. Today, inflation is driven by Trump tariffs and the war with Iran. Why? Because the supply chain is impacted. That basic economic lesson needs to be told to the American people.
Never thought I'd advocate for nationalizing a company, but I agree with you completely in this case. Musk should not be able to unilaterally set U.S. foreign policy and put our allies at risk.
I just want a completely impartial investigation of all Elons crimes, a fair trial with an unbiased prosecutor and an appropriate sentence if he’s convicted - my guess is that if that were to happen he would spend the rest of his days in prison
and Space X. We can't have our national security and access to space controlled by the whims of a national security risk and ally of an autocrat as Musk is.
Interested in this type of technology? Check out at ASTS. They have the Biggest and Best satellites for D2D. They also have a lot of DoD uses and contracts coming/starting in 2027. Sovereignty by design. JLEO announced and grant on the way. Working w/60+ MNOs globally w/ 3B subscribers to connect.
We never had this problem when the United States Government was in charge of its own affairs concerning the defense of our country and our allies. This whole situation explains why this is so wrong.
Musk was busy rolling up X, Grok into Tesla to hide massive losses. Final move is in play to bundle it all into SpaceX. That's so heavily subsidized, US government is about to own his ass.
Break it up, and invite competition.
Being totally reliant on a single company in any segment of the value chain, much less all of them, is to give that company a veto over our national security.
We need alternative options for launch, resupply, payload, compute, comms, parts, etc. All of it.
Musk built his launch empire on the contracts of USAF and NASA launches. Cheap launch pad leases and development seed money and lucrative maintenance subsidies of those multiple locations. Taxpayers built SX. The DoD pays for Ukraine’s Starlink access. He doesn’t get to throttle that network.
What if that was the plan?
Sell at a premium to an overzealous power hungry diaper freak.
Trump admin controls and monitors ALL Starlink data traffic.
Diplomacy through internet choking.
I said the same to my friend and he challenged me so I clarified that I meant:
“I don't mean that they would take ownership but rather force a separation and hold a veto over appointments to governance and CE. Musk could still own shares but not control the appointment of the board or management”
And strip the billionaires and corporations of their power. No-one in the world is free until the USA is free. Your corruption is spreading to every corner of the globe, including Aotearoa New Zealand. I really view the USA as Mordor at this point.
Can’t we phase it out as we phase other options in? US Space Dev Agency has a military option in 2027, Amazon Leo, Eutelsat, etc. I think he hates being ignored and slowly making StarShield irrelevant would be worse than trying to nationalize it. Also we need a fully functional backup, not just 1.
So, you’re suggesting that the Administration of the United States — essentially being tЯ☭mp — should control Starlink?
Here’s the answer: arrest and hold Musk in a tiny, cold cell. No bail. And certainly no internet.
Start introducing billionaires to consequences for bad behaviour.
When you look at a graphic of all the satellites, it’s hard not to conclude that this cannot belong to a single person or corporation; it’s too extensive and important not to be public. Obviously, governments were asleep at the switch.
