Hundreds of millions spent on body cams, and police still control the footage, delay the releases, and hide the worst incidents—so the “transparency” ends exactly where accountability should begin.

Body cameras were always a requirement for ICE. As you note - it’s the releasing of the footage that matters. As Russia has said for years - it’s not who votes that matters, it’s who counts the votes. Enter Trump’s bid for federalized voting.

Body cams for any purpose than internal supervisory review (usually daily by independent contractors & their software) for compliance w established CBA provisions, agency policy/procedure, respectful dialog with civilians, etc is a ploy & false assurance of accountability & transparency.
