just a reminder that we aren’t even seeing the worst of what is happening in Minneapolis from someone detailed at the Whipple Federal Building yesterday

The text references people "who have no constitutional right to due process". It was my understanding that habeas has not been suspended, and due process is to be afforded to everyone on American soil; is there some class of person for whom that is not so?

To be clear, I'm talking about the *right* to due process; seeing that in practice is obviously different under the occupying regime.

It's not just this regime. They've turned the dial to eleven, but the immigration system has long been a sick joke in many ways. Habeas corpus is still, nominally, in effect. That was one of the rare SCOTUS rulings against Trump: can't just put people on a plane to CECOT w/o hearing.

Like, everyone gets some process. But, immigration process is still slapdash process. Fake judges (they work for the president, not judiciary), fake warrants, no right to a lawyer. But, despite denying all the normal criminal protections, feds can do indefinite detention until deportation.
