See, here's the thing. You don't want to take it. But, what if... it was ... jostled out of place? And then accidentally kicked farther away? Just tossing out some ideas.

It should have a magazine release somewhere on the grip depending on the model it could be in a variety of places, it looks like a button. Press it in with a hand over the bottom of the handle and make sure the barrel is pointed in a safe direction.🧵 2/?

Now that the magazine is out keep rhe barrel pointed in a safe direction and pull the slide (top part) back to check that the chamber is clear. In movies this is that cool part where they pull the top part back and it makes a click-click sound. Do this with the barrel pointed in a safe direction.
