So LifeLabs, the only company that does bloodwork here in BC, just got acquired by a US company. Now whenever I log in to see my hormone level results, it has this popup. Concerning that need to know this, and never did before. I don’t trust an American outfit with this info in their database.

And if you give the yanks your sex at birth it'll likely flag all your hormone results as abnormal, creating more work for doctors... And then it'll be included in their next inevitable data breach. And be turned over to the fascists under their CLOUD Act, BC privacy laws be damned.

Exactly! It took a lot of effort to get them to change my gender marker in the first place I’m not messing that up again. They do have a “prefer not to answer” option but I still feel like that’s flags my profile : /
