Even as @wsocial.eu onboards more and more users, they can’t seem to get them to talk to each other 🤐 This atrocious engagement rate (~9%) for users on the W PDS has been steady as a rock since day 1 (here you can see it in the daily totals and percentages). #WhosThereSocial

How is this possible? #WSocial hosts 26k accounts but only 5.4k have provided ID verification (and thus can post). Of those, only 2450 people (as of this AM) have EVER published a SINGLE post or reply. By comparison, on Eurosky (26k accounts) EVERYONE can post. No ID required #WSocialPics

At the start of July, 91% of users had never posted. Seven weeks and roughly four times the user count later, still 91%. Same ratio, just far more people caught inside it now.

Here’s what that actually costs: every one of those accounts is a potential #Atmosphere 🌀 user. Someone who could be posting on @bsky.app , @eurosky.social , @blackskyweb.xyz , talking to the rest of us across the network. Instead they signed up once and went quiet.

The #Atmosphere 🌀 doesn’t care where you land. Identity, follows and posts move freely across PDSes. W had a real shot at handing the open Atmosphere thousands of new, engaged voices. Right now it’s handing it thousands of dormant accounts instead, and growing!

I signed up for W just to see what it had going on. The short of it... nothing. Not without ID verification. Can't post, can't like, can't even log into off-site Atmosphere stuff without verification and using WID. Left before the far-right debacle. Glad to be rid of it and their BS. Disastrous.

And then I used the labeler to hide their posts. Oops. Sorry, not sorry. There's no need when Eurosky (or literally any other PDS) exists.
