Feel like we've all memory-holed the era where blogging, podcasts, and wikipedia were considered the equivalent of slop

The only one there that had any slight controversy was Wikipedia in the early days because it wasn’t always checked for references and could be easily edited by anyone. Don’t try to gaslight how much blogs built the old web and were loved Blogs and forums were our hang spots.

Clearly not understanding the source of said "slop" defines the use of the word. By extension: does he consider what people post on microblogging platforms (like this) to be "slop"? That would be strange.

I think he hates this site to be honest. It's just trying to turn the word around to reflect on something to diminish its impact on what they value. You can have slop blogs. Many of them today packed with ads, SEO, and now AI are in fact slop. But blogging at large is not, nor was it "slop".
