It is weird to see Slimer cartoon reference in 2026, especially a trending one. Most Ghostbusters fans don’t even want to talk about it.

I think it is time for us all to admit that we are in the midst of a video game industry crash, largely driven by AI and corporate mismanagement. I do not think this is a crazy or uninformed thing to say. It’s different from the 80’s North American crash, but it’s real.

Do not go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas A poem by a Welsh poet. I'm half Welsh and wanted to work on my accent whilst also reading something beautiful 🖤

Seeing Gen AI start to ruin my enjoyment of gaming is such a bummer. The gaming industry is already shaky and frustrating in its current state, and here we are doubling down on the worst aspects so we can slop out shitty live service titles faster. Even worse it’s festering in retro gaming circles.

“Trust me bro this wine wrapper does everything you ever wanted and is totally safe to give full permissions to” or for some reason this “recomp” that does nothing an emulator from 10 years ago did but also has no safety checks is “better” than any other way to play.

Personally one of the most enjoyable parts of retro gaming, mods, TCs, emulation etc and the development of those was watching passionate people create something we never thought possible. Now some AI slop yanker with Claude won’t stop churning out one thing after another with outlandish claims.

Who the fuck wanted this? I just want to play a video game, I do not care if they sweat at all much less if it is realistic.

GTA 6 has a realistic sweat system that makes Jason and Lucia perspire based on how hard they dance www.gamesradar.com/games/grand-...

Despite assurances to the contrary (sometimes from people I otherwise respect), vibecoding is neither harmless nor a viable application of "AI." Unless you understand coding, you have no idea what the fuck you've thrown together because you didn't *want* to know. That's what vibecoding is!

I'm not sure "programming is hard" is what I want to hear from a software company that has my credit card number.

I never did a proper Role Announcement for my voice work in Escape from 8-Bit High so here it is! And a few clips of those roles below👇🏻 Get the game now on Steam and GOG now!

At this point Shop Pay feels like a scam. I keep getting opted in because every store front has it, and I do not want to have another company being between my purchases and keeping my phone and email on file. I keep deactivating it and it keeps coming back.

Showing up to my next job interview with a boot full of beer. When they ask what the hell I'm doing, I'll politely but sternly explain that it is not an iced coffee.

I dont believe for a second that shit heads like Musk saying “we should slow down” is anything but for show. But this shows how even worse Trump can be when he won’t even play it up. They don’t care if the planet is gone or our lives are in ruin. They will be dead soon.

He got what he wanted. More attention over his AI vibe coded Fallout mod. Boo hoo 😢 woe is me the famous person.

"There was a modder in the community that was really mean to me and bullying me, saying, 'Oh, your mod is shit. You don't know what you're fucking doing,'" said Burnley. "So I'm doing this every fucking night, and blowing his fucking downloads out of the water."

The only one there that had any slight controversy was Wikipedia in the early days because it wasn’t always checked for references and could be easily edited by anyone. Don’t try to gaslight how much blogs built the old web and were loved Blogs and forums were our hang spots.

People don’t feel good about the economy despite all these great numbers because all those stats are fluffed up. Besides that, day to day living is more expensive. Fake jobs being added to some stat sheet doesn’t make up for higher grocery bills, higher utilities, and higher gas prices.

Leave Substack already and switch to an open source alternative. Self host! Be free.

The number of people still seemingly unaware that Substack has a Nazi problem means it’s apparently worth mentioning yet again that Substack has a fucking Nazi problem.

This country, this administration is such a fucking joke. Your tax dollars went to slop generated, propaganda fueled, worse than 2000s era Newgrounds..."games". Advertised with a rip off off the Gamecube intro. Please sue them Nintendo.

I ate at hole in the wall joints so much as a kid and LOVED it and never once thought "Gee I wish they had terrible pictures next to this that makes the food look disgusting".

How do I explain to small business owners that the menu on the left is one billion times more appealing than the one on the right

Take me back to that greasy fried chicken place where they brought my Dad's livers and gizzards out in a brown paper bag. That was some of the best damn friend chicken and the menu looked exactly like this.
