Important to remember that although he was abandoned, Lakanwal was one of the lucky ones. We don't know how many Afghan collaborators were left behind to be rounded up by the Taliban. The imperial boomerang

It's like he was stuck in the bad place, it's a different torture. I have unrelated cptsd & it can feel like the entire world is gaslighting you. Life continues on as "normal" after you've gone through soul shattering stuff & you're told to be grateful! I don't mean to disrespect the left behind💔
