to this day people will deny it happened at all. well not to worry I guess, it’s over now, the Fed and now Trump have put the boot back on the neck of workers

During the Biden administration the stock market would regularly tank because too many jobs were added in a month. Now the stock market tanks because of Trump announcing new tariffs every other week

It turns out that people like to take the family to Red Robin, don't like when it costs eight bucks more to take the family to Red Robin, and don't think at all about the people who work at Red Robin and might be doing a little better because of those extra eight bucks.

"We are all Friedmanites now." In all seriousness, exploiting the fact that people had narrowly different interests as consumers (where, given strong competition, the consumer's interest might be aligned with capital) than as workers was the absolute key to neoliberalism

This changed my view of politics to being that: * people think they're lower-income than they are. * the people who said they were working class and hurt by the economy, were hurt by high labor costs for lower-paid workers * the actual low end doesn't have a big political voice.

It turns out the most politically engaged low wage earners actually are temporarily embarrassed millionaires. They’re just waiting for their inheritance to kick in.
