So I remember in 2016 when the Clinton campaign was basically running a variation of, 'Can you believe Trump said THIS?' and then Obama spoke at a rally and attacked Trump's central claim that he would be a fighter for working people.

I remember him running down all the ways Trump had fucked over workers over the years and saying something like, 'THIS GUY says he's your friend?!' There's much to criticize about his presidency but he had extremely sharp campaigning instincts.

I don't know how it's possible that the Dems went from a communicator like Obama to completely shitting the bed against a generational grifter. It's mind boggling. Hillary is not a great messenger but the message should have been ironclad
