it turns out newsprint paper was not the best vector for relaying information in a timely manner

but for a brief beautiful moment, all the cops could play candy crush on the job all day

you couldn't pokemon go to anywhere

the worst part was you had to get an actual paper ticket to a baseball game that you could keep as a souvenir. now thankfully everyone is required to carry an oversized calculator to get in

We'd all just walk out the door in the morning, not knowing where we were going or how to get there. Crazy times!

I am sure a lot think they are not the elite of the survivors, when most (not all) are just the ones that knuckled under and complied the most.

I'm one of the casualties. Left my then mid-circulation daily, which was owned by E.W. Scripps after I watched Rich Boehne announce the shuttering of the Rocky Mountain News live from our newsroom. If anything was a harbinger of things to come, was the death of small town newspapers. 😔
